PRO Meet and Greet

On Monday this week, my PRO class had a "Meet and Greet" for mentors and parents to come meet the other students and Mrs. Cook, our teacher. We each brought one dessert and Mrs. Cook took care of apple cider and coffee (the apple cider was very good, by the way). We set up our student boards (trifold boards with information about each student and their profession attached to it) and put our portfolios in front of them for people to read through.

Two of my mentors, Deborah Elliott-Upton and Jennifer Archer, showed up, along with my parents. I'm pretty sure Jodi Thomas didn't get a chance to read my invitation, so she probably didn't even know about it at the time, so that's okay. It went very well when my parents met my mentors; everyone liked each other all around. I stood and talked to my mentors throughout the party and I noticed that a lot of my classmates whose mentors hadn't come kept coming over to meet them and talk with us. It definitely kept it from becoming dull and I had a lot of fun showing off my mentors.

My parents and my mentors hit it off well with everyone. They all connected with each person in one way or the next. I didn't really get to meet everyone else's mentors because I stood with my mentors the most, but it still turned out to be a lot of fun for me, because they were the liveliest and most interesting ones anyway.

So, even though I felt nervous about it to begin with, it turned out to be a lot of fun and went very well for me.
